Lemmy Kilmister dead: Dave Grohl got an ‘Ace of Spades’ tattoo to honour Motorhead frontman
'We’ve lost a friend & legend. My heart is broken.'
Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl didn’t just tweet out an ‘RIP’ to pay tribute to Lemmy Kilmister, oh no, he got a permanent reminder of him tattooed on his wrist.
Grohl and Kilmister were good friends and frequent collaborators, so Dave thought it only fitting to get the band’s ace of spades logo inked.
Motorhead yesterday confirmed that they are calling it a day after 40 years following Lemmy’s passing.
We’ve lost a friend & legend. My heart is broken. RIP Lemmy. Born To Lose, Lived To Win. Official Motörhead

“We’ve lost a friend & legend. My heart is broken. RIP Lemmy. Born To Lose, Lived To Win.” Foo Fighters wrote on their Facebook page.
Another friend of Grohl’s, Josh Homme was among many rock musicians to honour Kilmister, who died on Monday following a short battle with aggressive cancer.
“I’m pissed off Lem is dead,” he wrote on Instagram. “This sucks. One of the last REAL rock n roll motherfuckers has crossed over & I miss him. He was true to himself without question.
“He knew there was no other pathway. A no bullshit, one of a kind, sharp tongued, hard livin', un-PC, stylish, hilarious & flat out genuine badass leader.”
