Rapper Lil Peep dies age 21

A postmortem into Lil Peep's death has already been carried out, just one day after he was found dead on a tour bus.

The rapper was scheduled to play a show in Arizona later that day, fans speculating the cause of death was a drug overdose.

The Medical Examiner confirmed the cause as a suspected overdose, adding how it will be six to eight weeks until they know for certain.

"Gustav Ahr, 21, known professionally as Lil Peep, died on the night of November 15 in Tucson, where he was scheduled to perform a concert" the statement reads.

"While it is suspected Ahr died of a drug overdose, it will be six to eight weeks before toxicology test results are available to definitively determine the cause of death.

Sgt. Pete Dugan of Arizona police told the Associated Press that evidence pointed towards an overdose of the anti-anxiety medication Xanax being suspected cause.

The rapper posted a series of disturbing Instagram posts in the hours before dying, including one with pills on his tongue, and one with the statement: “I just wana be everybody’s everything I want too much from people but then I don’t want anything from them at the same time u feel me I don’t let people help me but I need help but not when I have my pills but that’s temporary one day maybe I won’t die young and I’ll be happy? What is happy I always have happiness for like 10 seconds and then it’s gone. I’m getting so tired of this.”

Numerous stars from across the music world have paid tribute to Lil Peep, including Diplo, Zane Lowe, and more.
