The Weeknd has become the latest artist to toss a remix of Beyonce's Drunk In Love out to followers, quickly drawing more than a million listens on Soundcloud.

The Canadian, real name Abel Tesfaye, reworked the song's lyrics for his version, which also sees a glossy synth thrown into the mix.

This is not his first remix, having previously covered Michael Jackson's Dirty Diana for his Echoes Of Silence mixtape.

Earlier in the week Kanye West added a verse of his own to Beyonce's track, and Diplo posted a more EDM-orientated remix.

Featuring husband Jay Z, Drunk In Love gave Beyonce her 17th top ten UK single, taken from her eponymous album which was released without warning in December.

Beyonce previously said of the LP's unorthodox release: "I miss that immersive experience, now people only listen to a few seconds of song on the iPods and they don't really invest in the whole experience.

"It's all about the single, and the hype. It's so much that gets between the music and the art and the fans.

"I felt like, I don't want anybody to get the message, when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it's ready and from me to my fans."
