Massive Attack putting on free 'fleet of buses' to take fans to Hyde Park gig

The band are concerned that their local Bristol fans will end up paying touts for overpriced tickets

Massive Attack are putting on a “fleet of buses” to take local Bristol fans to their upcoming London gig for free.

The British band will headline a night of British Summer Time Hyde Park on 1 July, before playing at Bristol Downs on 3 September. Tickets for the latter homecoming show sold out in less than an hour and the group are concerned that devoted fans who missed out will pay “over the odds” to get in.

“We won’t be adding another date in Bristol this summer but we don’t want people to pay touts over the odds,” they said in a statement. “The unbelievable demand from Bristol meant that we looked for a way to help everyone to see us this summer.

“So we’re arranging for a fleet of buses to take people from Bristol to our show in London’s Hyde Park...at no extra charge. It’ll be great to have some of our fellow Bristolians up in London with us.”

Massive Attack will be supported at Hyde Park by Warpaint, Patti Smith, Ghostpoet and TV on the Radio. Carole King, Mumford & Sons, Stevie Wonder, Florence and the Machine and Take That all headline other nights of the concert series, with tickets starting at £59.50.
