Nick Grimshaw is to host this year's Barclaycard Mercury Prize awards show.

The Radio 1 presenter will entertain the crowd during the event at the Roundhouse in London on 29 October.

Shortlisted artists, including Bombay Bicycle Club and Jungle, will perform throughout the course of the evening, which will culminate in the announcement of the overall winner of the Album of the Year accolade.

Last year’s victor was James Blake with his offering Overgrown, while in 2012 Alt J took the prize for their album An Awesome Wave.

Grimshaw said: "It's a real honour to host the Barclaycard Mercury Prize awards show, which celebrates the best British talent that we have to offer. I think it's a really interesting, exciting and pretty perfect shortlist.

"I can't wait to see which album the judges crown as the overall winner this year."
