Muse frontman Matt Bellamy on Drones: 'A modern metaphor for what it is to lose empathy'

Matt Bellamy has explained the idea that drives Muse's upcoming new album Drones, following the release of the band's latest single 'Dead Inside'.

Bellamy was interviewed by Radio 1’s Annie Mac to discuss the track, which was released worldwide on 23 March, and elaborate on the themes that run through the album.

According to the Muse frontman, the album is "a modern metaphor for what it is to lose empathy".

"I think that through modern technology, and obviously through drone warfare in particular, it's possible to actually to quite horrific things by remote control, at a great distance, without actually feeling any of the consequences… or even feeling responsible in some way," he said.
