Pearl Jam announced on March 11 that it will play 11 US tour dates in May 2010. The tour leg begins on May 3 in Kansas City, Missouri and ends with back-to-back nights at New York City's Madison Square Garden.

The band will begin its tour just following its previously announced headlining appearance at the New Orleans Jazz Festival on May 1. American indie group Band of Horses is set to open all shows other than the May 20 performance in NYC, where blues-rock duo The Black Keys will open.

Following the US dates, Pearl Jam is set to head to Europe for a series of headlining and festival appearances in June and July. That tour leg will begin on June 22 at Dublin's O2 Arena, moving on to Belfast, London, and Berlin, plus festivals in France, Belgium, and Portugal.

Pearl Jam is touring in support of its self-released album Backspacer, which debuted in the top ten on US and European charts following its September 2009 release.
