Post Malone is planning a Nirvana tribute concert to raise funds for coronavirus relief efforts.

The artist announced the event on Wednesday on social media.

The concert will be live-streamed on YouTube on Friday 24 April.

Fans can tune in at 6pm EST/3pm PST/11PM BST.

Then can also text 817-270-6440 – a phone number Malone previously published for fans who want to receive updates about his projects.

According to Rolling Stone, donations will go to the solidarity response fund for the World Health Organisation, and Google will match donations up to $5m (£4m).

Malone will perform “a set of Nirvana hits and fan favourites”.

The artist is a known Nirvana fan, as evidenced by his “Stay Away” face tattoo – a reference to the band’s song of the same name, included in the 1991 album Nevermind.

The artist also has a portrait of Kurt Cobain tattooed on one of his knuckles.
