Pusha T: In the social media era, rap beefs aren't fun anymore

'It's different because there's a lot of sympathy and compassion [now]'

Drake and Pusha T's feud was fierce and seemed to be escalating, but ultimately was short-lived.

According to J Prince, Drake had prepared a response track to Pusha T's very personal diss track, 'The Story of Adidon' that would have, so the story goes, ruined careers, but decided against releasing it.

It seemed that while previous generations of rappers would just keep going at it, being so aggressive might be uncouth in 2018.

"It's different because there's a lot of sympathy and compassion and things like that I didn't know existed," Pusha T said when asked by GQ how rap battling has changed in the social media era. "That's why it's not even fun to me anymore."

When the interviewer suggested that more topics are off limits now, Push replied: "Bro, it's weird. It's so weird. There's a sentimental aspect that I didn't know existed. But new rules. I'm learning and discovering a whole bunch of new rules in the rap game. And I'll just leave it at that."

The feud was reignited by T's DAYTONA album track, 'Infrared'. It remains to be seen whether Drake will respond in some way on his next album, due out later this year.
