Taylor Swift was left clearly shocked after a fan tried to grab her legs during a gig in Canada.

The 25-year-old singer was performing her hit "Bad Blood" in trademark energetic style, when arms came out of nowhere from the front row and lunged at her.

Swift, dressed in a black leather jumpsuit, jumped back and death stared the man before flicking her hair and continuing with the Edmonton show like a consummate professional.

Instagram user Allena posted a video of the incident, writing: "Some crazy town grabbed at Swifty Swift tonight! Jeez buddy, keep your hands to yourself. Glad security was on him right away and of course Taylor carried on like a pro!"

Swift tweeted to her 61.6 million followers after the concert, thanking the crowd for an "insanely fun" night and not mentioning her scarily close call.

She is far from the first female singer to be affected by threatening behaviour from fans. Rapper Iggy Azalea recently revealed that she no longer crowd surfs because people have tried to sexually assault her in the past.

"Buying my album for $12 doesn't mean you get to f**ger me when I come to your city," she said.

Swift's 1989 world tour has grossed a massive $86.2 million so far. Her next single will be "Wildest Dreams".
