A plaque to mark David Bowie's iconic creation, Ziggy Stardust, was unveiled yesterday by Gary Kemp of Spandau Ballet in Heddon Street, London.

It marks the 40th anniversary of the release of the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders from Mars, which featured a photo of Bowie, taken in the Soho street, on the front cover. It was shot by Brian Ward in January 1972, five months before the album came out.
