As reinventions go, this is unexpected: Roxy Music's futurist pop re-recorded as Dixieland jazz instrumentals by Bryan Ferry himself.

But it's a surprisingly enjoyable transformation for some of the tunes: "Do the Strand", for instance, adapts perfectly to the new mode, and there's an aptly heady, befogged ambience to "Love Is the Drug". Elsewhere, there's a Palm Court Orchestra vibe to "Just Like You", while "Avalon" swaps its original elegant livery for an earthier Hawaiian-style shuffle. But "Virginia Plain" loses much of its character in transformation.
