Album: Peace, In Love (Columbia)
Anyone want some second-hand ideas?
The depressingly derivative debut album, from much-hyped Worcester-via-Brum quartet Peace, is full of pre-worn song titles ("Toxic", "Lovesick", "Delicious", "Higher Than the Sun") and pre-worn styles. Much of the time, it's reheated Madchester. The rest, it's over-literal psychedelia. And "Float Forever" both sounds like an Oasis title, and starts like one: "Sit atop the Eiffel in your mind ...." The big, singalong choruses mean they'll be huge.
