Benjamin Millepied is flying. Having choreographed the film Black Swan (and married Natalie Portman, its star), he's also the new director of the Paris Opéra Ballet.
Born in France, Millepied has spent much of his career in the US, where he recently founded LA Dance Project with other artists, including the composer Nico Muhly.
The company makes its UK debut with a bold programme. William Forsythe's elegiac Quintett is a love letter to his late wife. Merce Cunningham's stark Winterbranch explores the drama of falling, while Moving Parts is a new work by Millepied.
