Proving all's well that ends well, Shakespeare's Globe has sold 85,000 tickets for its festival of the Bard's plays performed in 37 different languages, "wildly" exceeding expectations.

The Globe to Globe Festival at the theatre on London's South Bank, which included a Chinese Richard III and a South Sudanese company performing Cymbeline, began on 21 April and finishes tomorrow with the Globe's own contribution of Henry V.

About 80 per cent of the bookings came from people who had never previously been to the Globe, many of them from the communities represented on stage.
