US actor Jason Biggs will not star in the third series of Netflix original drama Orange Is The New Black.

The 31-year-old actor, who first came to attention playing the lead role in comedy film American Pie, told the New York Daily News: “They’re not focussing on Larry at the moment”.

“Larry will not be in Season three. But there’s always a possibility he can come back,” Biggs added.

He played Larry Bloom, the finance of main character Piper.

The show follows Piper’s experiences inside a maximum security female prison in the US after she is sentenced to jail for carrying money for her then-girlfriend’s drug smuggling.

Season two saw Piper, played by Taylor Schilling, move away from Biggs’ character as she rekindled her romance with the ex-girlfriend, Alex Vause (played by Laura Prepon), whose actions originally imprisoned her.

Biggs is due to appear alongside Mad Men’s Elizabeth Moss in the Broadway play The Heidi Chronicles, opening next month.
