Lord Alan Sugar has shaken up this year's series of The Apprentice by getting rid of two candidates for the second time.

In a shock move, one of this year's most popular candidates, Karthik Nagesan, gets the instantaneous chop after his team is announced as losers of this week's task.

The teams had been tasked with selling high-end luxury boats and the winning team, led by children's clothing company owner Frances Bishop, stunned the boardroom afte rpulling in a total of over £40,000 compared to project manager Nagesan's team's measly £188.

Ahead of the bombshell, Lord Sugar told the 33-year-old IT consultancy owner: "There is no excuse, you have been a diabolical project manager - I don’t trust you to bring anybody back into this boardroom."

Permitting Courtney and Grainne to go back to the house, he orders Alana Spencer, Dillon St Paul and Samuel Boateng back into the boardroom before firing the latter.

Just nine candidates remain in the series which continues every Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.
