A Californian auction house is accepting bids for the red-and-metallic spacesuit Robin Williams wore on the television show “Mork & Mindy,” which ran from 1978 to 1982.
Profiles in History, an auction house that specializes in entertainment memorabilia, is planning to auction the egg spaceship that carried the alien Mork and his various supplies and luggage to Earth from planet Ork as well.
Don’t worry, the egg is intact — the show used jump cuts to show Mork breaking into an egg to retrieve his suitcase.
The costume is expected to fetch around $20,000, and the auction house thinks the egg will command up to $6,000.
“I think that it’s going to stand on its own merit, not because of what recently, tragically, happened with Robin.”
Among a hodgepodge of other items, Profiles in History will be auctioning off Peter Fonda’s Captain America motorcycle from “Easy Rider,” expected to fetch $1.2 million, and the “Telestrator” John Madden used to analyze replays during the 1982 Super Bowl.
Mad Men fans rejoice — or weep: Betty Draper’s lingerie and Don Draper’s coat are also going on the auction block.
