The latest episode of The Big Bang Theory made a small dig at the expense of Donald Trump.

Producer Chuck Lorre sneaked a criticism of the US President into the very end of the episode which aired in the States on Thursday (4 May).

The Wrap reports that, after the credits had rolled on the episode, Lorre included a shot of a Nielsen TV ratings grid for March 2006 when his sitcom Two and a Half Men had aired simultaneously with Trump's The Apprentice USA.

Judging by the grid, Two and a Half Men trounced The Apprentice USA - something Lorre underlined by writing: “Defeat terrorism and crazy dictators? He couldn’t even defeat Two and a Half Men.”

Ironically, this particular episode of The Big Bang Theory saw the long-running sitcom achieve the lowest ratings in its ten-year history.

Despite this, CBS recently confirmed it had renewed the popular series - which stars Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco - for an eleventh and twelfth season.
