Big Brother 2014: First pictures reveal futuristic Power Trip house with interactive walls

This year's batch of contestants are in for an interactive high-tech surprise

First look pictures of the new Big Brother house have been revealed, with contestants set for a futuristic surprise.

If the new images are anything to go by, 2014’s wannabe celebrities can expect a high-tech, minimalistic style to their interiors, complete with interactive LED walls, touchpads and an identity scanner.

Here’s hoping green and purple are their favourite colours too – there’s a lot of both.

The inevitably vain housemates will enjoy the myriad of mirrors but also face a constant reminder of impending eviction. Photos of their faces will be displayed on the wall and, after nominations each week, colours will reflect who might be next to get the boot.

This year’s swimming pool is one of the biggest in the show’s history, which might well encourage even more dubious antics than usual – the whole house can cool off at once!

There are, of course, cameras everywhere, along with a black and white floating staircase and a giant private pod over-looking the garden. Rest assured, there will be no secrets in this house.

“Everything looks so uncomfortable,” one fan wrote on the official Facebook page, while another begged producers not to “give the housemates an easy ride this year”.

The Channel 5 reality TV show, rebranded as Big Brother: Power Trip for the coming series, begins on Thursday night at 9pm.
