A pair of true cinematic greats has sided with Netflix.

The Coen Brothers struck a deal with the streaming giant on their project The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, Deadline reports; a Western anthology which features six tales about the American frontier as lensed through the unique viewpoint of Joel and Ethan Coen.

Tim Blake Nelson, best known for playing Delmar in the Coens' O Brother, Where Art Thou?, will play the titular Buster. The pair's statement on the news? "We are streaming motherf*ckers!"

The Coens will both write and direct the anthology, alongside serving as executive producers, with Megan Ellison's Annapurna Television division producing the series.

"The Coens are visionary directors, masterful storytellers, and colorful linguists. We are thrilled for Netflix to become home to the full range of their talents," said Cindy Holland, Vice President, Original Content for Netflix.

This is the Coens first foray into television, as they fall in line with the current trend of filmmakers crossing over onto the small screen; David O. Russell has a series at Amazon with Julianne Moore and Robert De Niro attached to star, while J.J. Abrams has The Nix at Warner Bros with Meryl Streep attached to star.
