Only Netflix could announce plans for a Green Eggs and Ham animated series with a poem based on Dr Seuss's famous rhymes.
The streaming service revealed it is teaming up with TV host Ellen DeGeneres and Warner Bros to bring the classic 1960 children's book to life.
“We'd love to share some happy news based on the rhymes of Dr Seuss, Green Eggs and Ham will become a show and you're among the first to know,” an official statement read.
“In this richly animated production, a 13-episode introduction, standoffish inventor (Guy, by name) and Sam-I-Am of worldwide fame, embark on a cross-country trip that tests the limits of their friendship.
“As they learn to try new things, they find out what adventure brings. Of course they also get to eat the famous green and tasty treat!”

DeGeneres, who will be executive producing the series, has promised a “cutting-edge animation”. “It's never been done on television before,” she said. “It's very, very cool. I'm excited about it.”
Green Eggs and Ham is due to arrive in 2018 and may well be the most expensive animated programme ever producer for television, according to industry insider Deadline.
