A Game of Thrones extra has left viewers confused due to his modern-looking costume, which seems oddly out of place in the hit fantasy series.
The extra appeared in the show’s pilot for a brief sequence that has now resurfaced, 10 days ahead of the eighth and final season premiere.
Twitter user @kbiegel shared a short clip of the moment on the platform on Wednesday, writing next to the footage: “Watching the Game Of Thrones first episode and there a guy in the background with a straight up Patagonia jacket, blue jeans and boots.”
While this description is tongue-in-cheek, the extra in question does appear to be wearing a sweater of some kind, paired with rather contemporary-looking trousers and boots.
His entire outfit is in sharp contrast with the capes, armours and elaborate clothing often sported by the rest of the cast, which have become a key part of Game of Thrones ‘s aesthetic since the pilot aired in 2011.
