Fans of Game of Thrones are being gifted treat after possible treat from author George RR Martin, with the promise of much more from the show still to come.
The US writer, 65, has spoken once again about the possibility of a feature film to tie-up the hit HBO series, saying he is “excited” but also dubious.
“I think it would be great but I’ve been sceptical about it because I’ve heard of a number of other shows that were (lined-up for movies) like Deadwood, Rome and even The Sopranos, and the only one I’ve actually seen is Sex and the City,” he told Entertainment Weekly.
Martin also hinted that he does not think seven seasons of the TV drama will be enough to tell the full story of his A Song of Ice and Fire novel series.
“As I’ve been saying for years, I wish they had more hours – every time I see another HBO show I wonder why we only have 10 and they have 13,” he said.

Martin drew upon the differences between his books and the small screen adaptation, insisting that he likes many of the new added scenes but misses “the things they leave out”.
Martin is currently writing the sixth book, The Winds of Winter, a chapter for which was dropped by surprise on his website in March.
His editor recently suggested that the series could extend to eight novels, although Martin insists that his "plan right now is still seven".
