With Game of Thrones being the biggest television series on the planet, the chance of encountering a police officer who watches it is fairly high.
The chance of encountering one who'd be willing to let you off having broken the law, however, may not be as high.
Fortunately for Kit Harington, his character Jon Snow provided him with the perfect tool to get out of a speeding ticket.
Recounting the anecdote on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the British actor said: "This policeman comes up and pulls me over… and he said, 'Look, there is two ways we can do this. You can either follow me back to the police station now and I book you in, or you can tell me whether you live in the next series of Game of Thrones'."
"So I looked at him and I went, 'I'm alive next season,' and he goes, 'On your way, Lord Commander'."
It seems the power of Westeros knows no bounds.
Game of Thrones season six continues weekly on Sky Atlantic, Mondays at 9pm, following a live simulcast with the US at 2am. The titles for episodes six and seven were revealed this week while the return of Aidan Gillen's character Littlefinger has been teased.
