*WARNING* MAJOR SPOILERS FOR GAME OF THRONES SEASON 6, EPISODE 2*

Sure, pretty much everyone saw this moment coming from a mile off; yet, Game of Thrones is just the kind of show where even the most obvious reveals land with the weight of a brick house. Jon Snow lives, and fans are having a really tough time containing their excitement.

The end of episode 2 saw the fan-favourite resurrected, as many expected, by the magically-empowered Melisandre; laying finally to rest so many months of wild speculation after his death at the hands of the Night's Watch brothers in last season's finale.

Yet, the entirety of Twitter essentially exploded into capital letters; as fans everywhere rejoiced at the Lord Commander's return and looked forward to whatever bloody path of vengeance he may embark upon in future episodes.

5 things we learned in GoT S06E02

Though it will certainly remain the main topic of conversation amongst Game of Thrones fans, Snow's resurrection wasn't the only shocking occurrence in the season's second episode. We also saw poor Hodor utter his first non-'Hodor' words of the show, alongside Ramsay's brutal murder of his own family.

Game of Thrones airs on Sunday nights in the US, at 9PM on HBO; and will be simulcast at 2AM on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
