The Good Place has been renewed for a fourth season, with NBC saying it "can’t wait to see what unexpected stories the new season will bring."

The show has been immensely popular, and its second and third season currently hold a 100% fresh rating on reviews aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

Season 3 saw Eleanor (Kristen Bell), Chidi (Jackson Harper), Tahani (Jameela Jamil) and Jason (Manny Jacinto) return to Earth in an alternate timeline where they didn't die.

“Congratulations to Mike Schur and an exceptional cast and crew, all of whom collaborate to create a thoughtful, mind-bending and hysterical series unlike anything else on television,” Tracey Pakosta and Lisa Katz, co-presidents of scripted programming for NBC Entertainment, told Variety.

“We can’t wait to see what unexpected stories the new season will bring.”

The Good Place season 4 doesn't yet have a release date, but every season so far has arrived in September.
