Earlier this year saw the announcement of a Hey Arnold! film which no doubt made the inner child in Nineties kids everywhere extremely happy.

Adding to the nostalgia trip is the confirmation that most of the original voice cast will be returning for the Nickelodeon special that's subtitled The Jungle Movie. That's right - the actors who voiced Helga, Phoebe, Harold, Rhonda Arnold's grandparents and more are all coming back, The A.V. Club reports.

While creator Craig Bartlett initially teased the news via his Instagram account, the network has supplied more details on what viewers can expect.

In total, 19 of the original voice cast are returning. Arnold voice actor Lane Toran is set to return but not as the titular character - that'll be the job of 15-year-old Mason Vale Cotton who starred as Bobby Draper from Mad Men's fifth season onwards.

The biggest name jumping on board the TV film is Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2) who will take on the role of recurring villain Lasombra, a treasure-hunting river pirate originally voiced by Brian Doyle-Murray (brother of Bill). Gerald - originally voiced by Jamil Walker Smith - will be played by Benjamin “L’il P-Nut” Flores Jr.

Animated series Hey Arnold! originally aired from 1996 to 2004 with the film debuting in 2017; it'll pick up where the series left off and is said to focus on hanging plot threads including why Arnold lives in a boardinghouse with his grandparents.
