Hilaria and Alec Baldwin welcome sixth child together

The announcement comes only six months after Baldwin gave birth to the couple’s fifth child in September 2020

Hilaria Baldwin and husband Alec have welcomed a sixth child to their family.

On Monday (1 March), Baldwin shared a photo of their newborn, taken by Alec, on Instagram, writing “7” and a red heart emoji. (This is their sixth child together, and Alec’s seventh overall.)

The announcement comes only six months after Baldwin gave birth to son Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas in September 2020.

The couple had not publicly announced that they were expecting another baby. “We’re still not issuing a statement or confirming anything – what she posted stands,” the couple’s representative told Page Six when asked for details, given the announcement’s unusual timing.

The representative did not address whether the baby was adopted or born through surrogacy.

The news comes only weeks after the yoga instructor, lifestyle influencer, and podcast co-host addressed the December controversy surrounding her heritage.

In a post to Instagram, Baldwin said she had “spent the last month listening, reflecting, and asking myself how I can learn and grow”.

“My parents raised my brother and me with two cultures, American and Spanish, and I feel a true sense of belonging to both,” she wrote.

“The way I’ve spoken about myself and my deep connection to two cultures could have been better explained – I should have been more clear and I'm sorry.”

Baldwin added that she's “proud of the way [she] was raised”, and that she and husband Alec Baldwin are "”raising [their] children to share the same love and respect for both”.

“Being vulnerable and pushing ourselves to learn and grow is what we've built our community on, and I hope to get back to the supportive and kind environment we’ve built together,” she wrote.

Baldwin's heritage originally came into question in December 2020 when followers accused her of pretending to have Spanish origins.

Speaking to The New York Times, Baldwin insisted that she had not intended to create a false narrative about her origins, saying: “I think there is a difference between hiding and creating a boundary.”
