Ukrainian dancer Sergei Polunin has appeared in the video for Hozier's new song "Momentum" – three years after the video of his "Take Me To Church" performance went viral.

This time, the pair collaborated on the music video for the Irish singer-songwriters track, which was released on Wednesday 14 November.

The video, which has already received over a quarter of a million views, sees the notorious "bad boy of ballet" perform a sublime routine where he is tormented by multiple versions of himself, as Hozier sings: "So move me, baby / Shake like the bough of a willow tree / You do it naturally, move me."

"I was first confronted by Sergei's talent when I saw a performance of his set to my music in collaboration with David LaChapelle [who directed the 'Take Me To Church' performance]," Hozier said. "I believe one of the greatest things to become of your own work is for it to form part of another artist's vision or execution.

"That performance itself gave rise to ideas for this song, so I was incredibly proud to work with Sergei on this video."

The "Movement" video was directed by UK duo Us (Chris Barrett and Luke Taylor). Hozier is preparing to release the long-awaited follow-up to his eponymous debut album, which was released in 2014, and is setting out on tour in November and December this year.
