Jennifer Aniston says it’s ‘not funny to vote for Kanye’ as she endorses Joe Biden and Kamala Harris

Actor joins celebrities including Taylor Swift, Leonardo DiCaprio, John Legend, Billie Eilish and Dwayne Johnson in endorsing Biden

Jennifer Aniston has told fans it’s “not funny” to vote for Kanye West as she urges them to take the 2020 presidential election seriously.  

The Friends star shared a series of photos as she revealed she has chosen to vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the US presidential race.  

“#IVOTED for @joebiden and @kamalaharris. I dropped my ballot off, and I did it early,” she wrote. “I voted for them because right now this country is more divided than ever.”  

“Right now, a few men in power are deciding what women can and can’t do with their own bodies. Our current President has decided that racism is a non-issue. He has repeatedly and publicly ignored science… too many people have died.”

Aniston called on her followers to “really consider” who would be most affected by the election if Donald Trump should win a second term: “Your daughters, the LGBQT+ community, our Black brothers and sisters, the elderly with health conditions, and your future kids and grandkids (who will be tasked with saving a planet that our leadership refuses to believe is hurting).” ⠀  

“This whole thing isn’t about one candidate or one single issue, it’s about the future of this country and of the world,” she said. “Vote for equal human rights, for love, and for decency.”

The actor added: “PS. It’s not funny to vote for Kanye. I don’t know how else to say it. Please be responsible.”  

West has reportedly spent an additional $3m (£2m) on his presidential campaign despite polling at just two per cent. He has received less than $3,000 (£2,300) in donations.

West is registered in 12 states across the country and has urged supporters to add his name as a write-in candidate elsewhere.

Democrats have criticised the musician for his “stunt” campaign, which some believe is designed to help Trump by siphoning votes away from Biden.

A number of prominent entertainment figures have thrown their support behind Biden, including director Mel Brooks, singers Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Cher and Billie Eilish, Hailey Bieber, Jonathan Van Ness, Dwayne Johnson, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Cardi B, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.
