Katherine Ryan and her boyfriend fought off a masked robber in their London home, the comedian has revealed.

The Canadian star posted a photo on her Instagram Story showing police in the background. She captioned it: “Cool to be robbed tonight by a masked man in our home.”

Ryan, known for her stand-up comedy shows and appearances on panel shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats, revealed that the intruder almost stole a laptop featuring scripts of her new Netflix show – a sitcom following a single mother.

In another Instagram Story, she wrote: “This is why I love Bobby K [Kootstra]. He got in a fight and wrestled back my Netflix series, all my scripts.”

She later revealed she was finding it hard to sleep following the burglary in which her ring was stolen.

She shared a photo of the item on Twitter in the hope that someone would notice it in the chance it shows up at a nearby pawn shop.

Ryan’s stand-up specials, including Trouble and Glitter Room, can currently be streamed on Netflix.

Her new sitcom, titled The Duchess, is expected to be released on the subscription service in the next few years.

The comedian was reunited with Koostra, her childhood sweetheart, while returning to her hometown of Sarnia, near Toronto, for the filming of Who Do You Think You Are? in 2018.
