Love Island: Six new boys enter the villa

Love Island had another shake-up as not one, not two, but twelve new contestants arrived.

Newly single Laura and perpetually single Samira in particular were delighted to meet six, virtually identical young men.

The latest episode attracted plenty of fresh controversy after fans began pointing out that the new contestants looked alarmingly similar to one another, drawing fresh complaints about how the show tends to favour a very specific body type: namely one with zero per cent body fat.

Frankie, who revealed he had never been in a long-term relationship, quickly caught the eye of Samira – who many fans felt has been single for far too long and deserves some male attention.

Meanwhile the boys travelled to “Casa Amor” where they immediately regressed to Neanderthals (“lads on tour!”) and met Kazimir, Grace, Savanna, Darylle, Charlie and Ellie #2.

It seemed as though Dani was right to be anxious, as her boyfriend Jack could only muster an “oh my god” as the girls sashayed into the Casa Amor villa. But it turned out to be because his ex-girlfriend (Ellie #2) was one of the new islanders.

After a slightly awkward chat about how Jack had left things on an awkward note sans closure, they agreed to be friends and move on.

Dr Alex, meanwhile, was “absolutely chuffed” to meet six new girls, after resigning himself to the fact that things just weren’t going to work out with Ellie #1, he was the veritable child-in-sweetshop as he tried to work out which of the new arrivals he fancied most.

No one was surprised to hear Adam keeping his options open, despite the fact his new girlfriend Zara had barely got on her flight back home, although he seemed strangely quiet as the other boys didn’t waste any time.

The show was left on a cliffhanger so fans will have to work out which of the not-so-single lads will get themselves in trouble with the girls back at the villa, and whether Samira will finally couple up with someone worthy.

Love Island continues week nights at 9pm on ITV2
