Netflix releases A Series of Unfortunate Events season 3 trailer

A Series of Unfortunate Events has one final stand before drawing to a close, and Netflix has released a trailer teasing what to expect.

The third and final season of the streaming service's Lemony Snicket adaptation will answer all of the mysteries surrounding the deaths of the central trio's parents.

Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes and Presley Smith will all return as the Baudelaire orphans, alongside new cast members Allison Williams, Richard E Grant and New Girl star Max Greenfield.

Other cast members returning for more include Patrick Warburton, Lucy Punch, Tony Hale and Neil Patrick Harris as the nefarious Count Olaf.

A Series of Unfortunate Events began on Netflix in 2017. The third season will adapt Snicket's final four books across a total of seven episode.

The final season will be available to stream on Netflix on 1 January 2019.
