Arnold Schwarzenegger discusses Donald Trump's role on the Apprentice

The new host of Celebrity Apprentice, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has expressed his view on Donald Trump's continuing role as executive producer.

It was announced yesterday (9 December) that the US president was to remain on board the NBC series despite the network cutting ties with the tycoon following his derogatory remarks about Mexican immigrants during his presidential campaign.

He said: “It’s no different than when I was running for governor and I was governor.

The actor also spoke candidly when asked about Trump's wider appointment as the president of the United States, saying: “I think you have to give him a chance. I don’t think you can judge anything after one month.

Schwarzenegger refused to endorse the republican in the run-up to the election. The series has been rebranded as The New Celebrity Apprentice with the actor set to make his debut on 2 January - the series will feature comedic actor Jon Lovitz and British singer Boy George.
