DJ Nick Grimshaw and chart stars Rizzle Kicks have been lined up to host a pair of new music shows for Channel 4.

Grimmy is to front an hour-long music quiz show - which will also feature performances - with the working title of That Music Show.

And Rizzle Kicks duo Jordan Stephens and Harley Alexander-Sule have signed up for another programme Smells Like Friday Night.

They will be joined on the show by comedian Rob Beckett and aspiring presenter Billie JD Porter.

Station bosses have given the go-ahead to pilot editions of the shows with a view to commissioning full series.

Channel 4 said they would both be "packed with stand-out live performances from the newest to the biggest names in music".

Grimshaw is currently hosting BBC3's Sweat The Small Stuff and has hosted fronted other programmes for C4.

Last week it emerged that almost a million listeners had deserted the Radio 1 breakfast show since he took over from Chris Moyles and the youth station's audience now trails that of Radio 4.

His new programme is to be set in a well known music venue and would combine a "vibrant award-style feel" quiz with a raucous gig.

Channel 4 head of formats Dominic Bird said: "These two shows provide us with a great opportunity to put music back on the agenda."
