It’s that time of the year again, when the biggest performers from up and down the country get together to perform for a member of the royal family at the Royal Albert Hall. Yes, it’s the Royal Variety Performance.

Filmed almost a month ago (November 13), the show finally reaches TV screens tonight (8 December), and is sure to be as spectacular as ever.

To help you out, we’ve compiled a list of everything you need to know about the show, from when it is to who is performing.

When is it on and what TV station? The Royal Variety Performance is being aired by ITV at 7.30pm.

Who is hosting? Comedian Jack Whitehall is taking on hosting duties and is said to poke fun at Prince Harry and One Direction throughout the show.

Which members of the Royal Family will be there? Just Prince Harry will be attending the annual event this year as the Queen, Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Edinburgh were all otherwise engaged.

Which musicians will be performing? For the main event, boyband One Direction will be headlining, marking their last performance before a year long hiatus.

Elton John, Kylie Minogue, Ricky Martin, Little Mix, Josh Groan and The Corrs will also be playing, as well as a special performance by Jeff Lynne’s recently formed ELO. Brandon Flowers of the Killers will also be putting in a special performance as well.

Which comedians will be performing? Mock the Week regulars Ramesh Ranganathan and Chris Ramsey will be trying to make the audience laugh, as will impressionist Matt Forde.

Jimmy Tarbuck, who used to host Sunday Night at the London Palladium, will pay tribute to the late Cilla Black.

Who else is performing? You thought that long list of musicians and comedians was it? Oh no. There’s also going to be performances from the best of the West End, including cast members from Mary Poppins, The Play That Goes Wrong and Cats all putting on showstoppers.

Cirque du Soleil will also be there, swinging from the rafters as always. And, of course, the Britain’s Got Talent winners - Jules, Matisse and Friends - will be putting on a special show. Hopefully there wont be any foul play this time.
