These subtle Game of Thrones GIFs are delightful

(Terence Eduarte)

There’s a lot of Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire fan art out there, but this is particularly pleasing.

Graphic designer Terence Eduarte created GIFs of Jon Snow and a dire wolf buffeted by snow, Cersei Lannister swirling a glass of wine conspiratorially and Daenerys Targaryen standing in the desert as one of her dragons swoops by.

Sadly he’s only made three so far, as it would be great to see characters like Tyrion, Jaime and Ygritte in subtle GIF form.

A graduate of Fine Arts, Terence is an Illustrator and Art Director based in Manila. “Relishing strong shapes, gritty textures and vector-based graphics, his illustrations are inspired by the clamour of the bustling city he calls home,” his bio explains.

While GIFs were once all about fast movement grabs of TV shows, they’re increasingly being used to great artistic effect. Last month they were used to bring iconic book covers to life.
