With a character's life in the balance thanks to Negan, The Walking Dead fans have been sifting through every piece of official (and unofficial) information, hoping to work out whether Glenn is alive or not.

Whoever the victim is, there are sure to be more Negan casualties as actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been bumped up to season regular, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Also joining the cast as season regulars are Tom Payne (who plays Rick's teammate Jesus), Austin Amelio (Dwight, a member of Negan’s Saviours) and Xander Berkeley (leader of the Hilltop Colony).

Even without the new additions, season seven had a packed cast, including: Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Chandler Riggs (Carl), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Melissa McBride (Carol), Michael Cudlitz (Abraham), Lennie James (Morgan), Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha), Alanna Masterson (Tara), Christian Serratos (Rosita), Josh McDermitt (Eugene), Seth Gilliam (Father Gabriel), Ross Marquand (Aaron), Austin Nichols (Spencer).

Season seven will also add two new characters to the series, neither of whom appeared in the comic books. The first, Naomi, is described as "grandmotherly" and - having lost many of the people she loved - is "willing to do whatever it takes.”

The second is Jennie, a "sunny-side-up kinda teenager" who possesses similarities to former Walking Dead character Beth Greene (Emily Kinney).

Meanwhile, speculation over who Negan killed in season six's closing moments has reached overdrive, the producers recently opting to shoot 11 different outcomes in an attempt to preserve the surprise.
