As anyone who watches The Walking Dead will tell you, season six was, at times, an aggravating experience, not least of all because the finale ended on a cliffhanger.

Ever since fans have been speculating over who Negan killed will Lucille, dozens of explainer videos being created for Youtube, most of which point to Glenn being the victim.

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we at least know that one character is alive and well in season seven: Morgan’s.

The magazine was entrusted with an exclusive image of the character, along with the knowledge he survives accepting help from two armoured soldiers who look like they helm from The Kingdom.

“The exciting thing about season 7 is we’re really opening it up,” executive producer Greg Nicotero said. “We started in season 6 by getting a sense that the world was a much larger place. We were laying the seeds for the fact that there is a very big world out there. So, in season 7, we really get a chance to explore those worlds in much greater detail.”

It was recently reported that four characters - Jesus (Tom Payne), Dwight (Austin Amelio), Gregory (Xander Berkeley) and, of course, Negan - had been promoted to series regulars for the upcoming episodes.

The Walking Dead season 7 will air on FOX this autumn.
