The latest episode of The Walking Dead season 8 presented what many readers of the comic book series were expecting.

'Some Guy' placed the focus on King Ezekiel and his fallen Kingdom warriors with the episode culminating in the death of his beloved tiger, Shiva, who gets devoured by a horde of walkers attempting to save her owner.

This death occurs in the comics (we also predicted it earlier this summer) and, while writers tend to regularly go off-book from the source material, Shiva's last stand played out just as readers were expecting save for the fact that she also saves Carol and Jerry.

You can see how it plays out in issue #118 below.

The episode ends with the trio returning to the Kingdom, Ezekiel a far cry from he rabble-rousing monarch he was when we first met him last season.

Shiva is yet another casualty following the death of Aaron's partner Eric in last week's episode.

The tiger was first introduced in the second episode of season 7.

The Walking Dead season 8 airs every Sunday in the US on AMC with the UK premiere arriving the following evening on FOX. It will also be available on NOWTV
