The TV chef and former model embarks on a journey into the heart of Britain’s neglected foster-care system.

Pascal herself was adopted as a baby, then fostered from the age of eight when her adoptive parents’ marriage broke down.

Between shadowing the London borough of Lambeth’s social services, she tracks down some of the carers who looked after her as a child.

The model-cum-socialite Cara Delevingne continues her fledgling acting career as a Whitby sandwich-shop worker (I know, it’s not what you’d call typecasting) whose soldier fiancé is in Afghanistan.

In the Calendar Girls writer Tim Firth’s slight tale, Sylvia Syms (left, with Delevingne) co-stars as her great-grandmother. The shoot apparently involved a quick visit to Iceland.

Luis Suarez is apparently fit and aiming to target England’s “deficiencies” and the Liverpool striker will no doubt be the focus in the run-up to England’s must-win fixture against Uruguay.

If Roy Hodgson was the sort of man who took comfort in omens, then the last time that England played Uruguay in the group stages of the World Cup was in 1966.
