For today's horse racing tips, our analyst James Boyle looks at the flat racing meeting at Wolverhampton with two selections now online.

16:55 Wolverhampton – Culcor – 1pt @ 16/1

Culcor has a tough draw to navigate but the brilliant Neil Callan is on board and hopefully they might be able to get into a workable early position. If they do, I think there’s a chance we could see him bouncing back to proper form following a below-par run at Doncaster last week.

Midway through that race he looked to be moving fine but had no response when asked to pick up and was eased off. He had previously shaped with some promise when ridden very cold at Beverley on a soft surface and it wouldn’t take a massive step up on that to be involved here.

Dropping back to 7f should not be a problem, in fact I fancy it’ll help, and a visor goes back on having been left off for both runs subsequent to a three-month break. That could also liven him up, whilst he’s onto the All-Weather for the first time. Overall, he’s a speculative play but 16/1 seems fair.

19:00 Wolverhampton – Second Collection – 1pt @ 22/1

Second Collection is another in the risky category but has a nice draw, is very well-treated on her best form and both All-Weather wins have come over C&D. The problem is her two performances since coming back from a break have yielded nothing and a bounce back is required.

Last time was a write-off altogether as her jockey fell off after the stalls opened but Hector Crouch is booked this time and that’ll be a help. The other start was over 5f here in a 0-68 and this is a 0-55, so the level of opposition she’s facing is significantly weaker.

It’s impossible to know whether she’s on good enough terms with herself to make an impact and the yard have more obvious claims elsewhere, but I’m happy to play the price. She’ll win a race before long off this sort of rating and having a better jockey up top could be a big positive.
