Compare best Lebara deals

You may not have heard of Lebara, but since 2001 it has accumulated a legion of fans because of its no-fuss approach to phone deals. Lebara deals offer great-value international calls to more than 40 countries, including India, Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand. The provider mostly offers sim-only deals but has begun to offer new and refurbished unlocked handsets, which can be used either with your Lebara SIM or one from another provider.

Best Lebara Deals in the UK

Lebara deals include seven sim-only plans. The plans are provided on a 30-day rolling basis with no fixed contract, so you can cancel at any time.

All Lebara deals come with unlimited UK minutes and texts, except for its most basic 2GB data plan. International call allowances vary, with a minimum of 100 up to unlimited minutes to 41 countries.

If you’re in need of a handset, you’ll need to buy one separately and make sure it’s unlocked in order to use it with your Lebara SIM. Alternatively, you can buy unlocked brand new or reconditioned handsets from Lebara’s website.

Here’s a rundown of the Lebara deals currently available:

Lebara Mobile Contracts

Most Lebara deals are sim-only plans which don’t come with a contract. These flexible plans mean you can switch providers at any time without incurring cancellation fees.

If you’d rather not have to constantly top-up or renew your 30-day plan, you can opt for Lebara’s 12-month plan. The cost is fixed with payment taken at the start of each 30-day period. If you decide to do this, you’ll save 10% each month compared to month-by-month subscribers. Bear in mind that, if you cancel your 12-month plan early, you’ll face cancellation charges.

How is Lebara’s 4G and 5G Network Coverage?

Lebara uses the Vodafone mobile network, which offers 98% UK coverage for 4G. This is because Lebara is what’s known as an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator). This means they don’t own their own mobile network and use another provider’s infrastructure.

5G is included in all Lebara plans (as long as your phone is compatible), but this is still being rolled out and Vodafone’s network is not as advanced as other 5G networks.

What Data Speeds Does Lebara Offer?

Lebara uses Vodafone’s network, which offers speeds of around 20Mbps. This is enough to browse, use social media, or stream content on your device pretty comfortably.

How Does Lebara International Calling Work?

The inclusion of international minutes within their plans is what sets Lebara apart from other providers. It means no roaming charges as plans include international calls. Almost all its plans offer unlimited UK calls and texts, so it’s just as good for use at home as it is for calling abroad.
