A giant panda at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington has given birth – after five pseudopregnancies since 2007.
The cub is the second born to Mei Xiang and Tian Tian through artificial insemination. Mei Xiang had less than a 10 per cent chance of becoming pregnant after so many failed attempts.
