The British are well known for being too polite.

They apologise when someone walks into them, they will queue for hours on end and most will pretty much refuse to ever make complaint.

Research shows 45-55 year olds are the most polite of all, with children and young teenagers being the least polite.

Research from Saga found one in five children push in front in queues and swear in front of younger children, while one in seven avoid eye contact on public transport so they don’t have to give up their seat.

We’ve used Debrett’s etiquette guide to compile a test to see if you're polite or just plain rude.
