The annual Art Deco Weekend 2010, January 15-17 in Miami Beach, Florida features 85 events including a street fair of vendors selling collectables, vintage film screenings, a classic car fest, lectures, performances, and guided tours of the largest historic district in the USA. A parade and dog promenade kicks off the event.

The theme of this year's festival is "On the Road: Art Deco Celebrates the Motorcar," celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Antique Automobile Club of America.

The Art Deco architectural design popularized from 1925 to 1945 is prominent in hotels, residences, and commercial buildings throughout Miami Beach, evoking the streamlined look of technology that was new in that era, especially found in transportation from luxury ocean liners to trains and vehicles.

The Art Deco Festival, started in 1976 by the Miami Design Preservation League which was responsible for renovating the architectural gems along the oceanfront and area. It attracts close to 400,000 visitors to famous Ocean Drive between 5th and 15th Streets in the heart of the Art Deco District.
