Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake and Snoop Dogg to headline at first Olympic Park concert
The full line-up for the Wireless Festival has been announced
Jay-Z will return to the Olympic Park when he headlines the Wireless Festival, which takes place at its new East London home this Summer.
The New York rapper, who guested with Coldplay at the Paralympics Closing Ceremony last September, joins Justin Timberlake and Snoop Dogg at the two-day event in July.
The dance-based Wireless festival, along with the Hard Rock Calling event, have relocated from Hyde Park to the Olympic Park, following complaints from Mayfair residents over the noise generated by the shows.
Emeli Sande, Rita Ora, Kendrick Lamar, Calvin Harris and Frank Ocean also join the bill for Wireless, which will be staged in a specially-constructed arena where the Hockey arena stood during last Summer’s games.
Steve Homer, Wireless promoter with the Live Nation company, said: “We’re incredibly excited to take it to its new home, London’s iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and are delighted to secure Justin Timberlake and welcome back Jay-Z. Securing these two artists – Jay-Z for his only European performance of 2013 and Justin Timberlake for his only UK festival appearance this year – cements our reputation as a world class player on the festival circuit.”
Hyde Park will stage a reduced series of concerts this Summer, in a redesigned arena which promises to reduce the noise and disruption for residents. Bon Jovi will be the first headline act in July.
Wireless tickets go on sale Friday 22 February at 9am, priced at £57.50 plus booking fee. Two day tickets are priced at £110 plus booking fee. Tickets are available at www.wirelessfestival.co.uk
