Young job seekers in the US currently entering the workforce are at an advantage - as the job market is at the strongest its been in a decade, according to the New York Fed.

For millennials, this means ample opportunities to secure a job within their field - as long as they know where in the country to look.

While some cities are notoriously harder than others to make ends meet, including New York City, other bustling American cities are making it much easier for millennials - and offer all of the necessary factors such as reasonable cost of living, salary, and similarly-aged demographics.

To narrow down the best cities for millennials, insurance agency Jetty analysed research on the largest 150 metropolitan areas in the US - by focusing on average millennial income, cost of living, unemployment, millennial population growth, and millennial share of the workforce with data from the US Census Bureau, US Bureau of Economic Analysis, and Zillow.

The resulting 25 cities, many of which are in the South or Midwest, are perfect for recent graduates, who are currently experiencing an unemployment rate of just 3.7 per cent nationwide.

The number one cities on the list are nearby Denver, Aurora and Lakewood, Colorado - where millennials make up 38.3 per cent of the workforce.
