Ovie Soko is turning out to be the unsuspecting sartorial hero of this season’s Love Island
The 6ft 7in British basketball player has won praise for his colourful wardrobe throughout the ITV2 series to the point where he has already caught the attention of online retailers , including Boohoo Man and ASOS .
But what is it about Soko’s style that has struck such a chord among fans of the popular reality TV programme?
According to the viewers, it's the ebullience of his Hawaiian shirts, which come in a range of eye-popping shades such as scarlet, sky blue and candyfloss pink, and the flamboyant prints – think exotic birds, stars and giant flowers.
Soko's whole look is undeniably retro, and fans are loving it because while the rest of the male contestants don white skinny jeans and V-neck T-shirts, the 28-year-old is paying homage to the 1990s in looks that resemble those in Quentin Tarantino's sublime 1993 drama, True Romance.

Given how he's dressed in the villa so far, we suspect said line would include printed shirts, rounded sunglasses and some eccentric headwear.
